WBCS EXAM | State Government Plans Supreme Court Appeal Following Kolkata High Court's Job Security Ruling

According to the statements of the Novanet source, the summer vacation is currently ongoing in the Supreme Court. Due to the decision of the Kolkata High Court, no one is currently losing their jobs, so the state's application will be submitted there as soon as the court's work starts completely.

Recently, during the election campaign in the just-concluded Lok Sabha, Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee announced that she did not accept the verdict of the Kolkata High Court regarding the OBC reservation certificates. This time, due to that verdict, the state government has decided to suspend the new process of WBSSC and other job recruitments. Novanet is applying to the Supreme Court against that verdict. According to administrative sources, initially, efforts will be made to obtain a stay order.

Wbcs exam postponed news

According to administrative sources, the Public Service Commission (PSC) was already conducting the recruitment process before the court's verdict. No exams have been taken yet, or eligible candidates have been called for interviews. PSC claims that this process will not be hindered by the court's verdict.

However, until a stay order is obtained from the Supreme Court, the main examination of WBSSC-Mains is not being postponed. According to one expert, "Candidates are screened in the preliminary exam. They sit for the mains. But whether that will be possible or not, will be understood only after legal consultation."
